we love for the whole registering process to be quick and most importantly pain-free, because nobody likes pain. so here's the rule for registration. follow it and there will be no pain.
register with a username you can remember.
mmm, surprising, huh? no, really. unlike invisionfree boards, we can't change your username one you've signed up. so the best thing to do is sign up with one you can easily remember.

okay, see here: we are a literate site, so we expect literate members. we like people who can keep up with our level of writing. if you don't think you meet our standards: why not try? there's no harm, right? we'll even help you out when you need help and cheer you on.
post size? well, we want you to write a few good sized paragraphs: at least. that's the bare minimum. detail=love. we want to hear what your character is thinking, what they are feeling, all their emotions, what
they are seeing at the moment. once you get rolling its really hard to stop, so come up with a good starter paragraph first and then make sure you have a good, solid way to end your post. no one likes drab endings, so make sure its a nice cutoff. make sure your posts are at least 200-400 words long, an average size. if you want to add on, go ahead! if you want to take some off, no one is stopping you, but make sure you don't take off too much.

this site is rated M. for mature, to those of you who don't know what that means. this is a roleplay site, so we are playing out plots, and you really don't know what to expect from a post if it goes somewhere you didn't expect it to. so be prepared for swearing (even though i don't want people to start dropping f-bombs every other word) and sex, drugs, and whatever else. but be aware that excessive amounts of these are strictly forbidden: we do not want sex in every thread, and every other guy should not be doing drugs, and every other girl should not be pregnant. if there will be sex in a thread, mark it with an M or Mature. if the thread goes somewhere you didn't expect it to go, please go back and edit it. we don't want people randomly stumbling across things they
are not comfortable reading. if you want the thread to fade to black at a certain point, go ahead. but don't make it too graphic: for the rep of the site and for the rep of you as a roleplayer. thank you.

first of all, i know we all love to have our characters match up. for example, if we have a leighton meester and a blake lively, we should totally make them BESTIES! i know, i know, that's such a fabulous idea, the iconage would be simply ahmazing, it would be so cute! but to be real, why don't you mix it up for a change? like, what if blake and leighton were total rivals and instead blake was besties with megan fox? and leighton was head-over-heels for joe jonas? hey, it could totally happen: it is a roleplaying site. be creative with your relationships, mkay?
secondly, don't make like 29042323 girls and two guys. girls are amazing (of course) and fun to roleplay, but guys are essential. fact of life #1: without guys, there would be no girls. fact of life #2: there are guys in this world. fact of life #3: roleplaying with a ratio of 10:1 girls to guys is no fun and gets really really boring. So let's say you have 5 characters? try to make 2-3 of them guys.
okay, now that that's out of our way: i love it when people have lots of characters. it's great! it expands the site, its good for plotting. so for that reason, we have no character limit on this site. but its far better to have one or two good, strong, developed characters than to have five or six weak underdeveloped characters. also, when you have too many characters you tend to... well, not use all of them. and that sucks. because someone else could be using that playby or that canon and you have them, and you aren't even posting with them. so you know what's a better idea? say you make a character, and then all of a sudden you have five characters, and you like two of them better than the rest. pm an admin, and tell them to delete the characters. (note: pm them the username, i.e. the first middle and last name of the character you'd like to delete) they'll take care of it, and: ta-dah! you only have two awesome playbys leighton meester and hayden panettiere, and now that the others are up for grabs, somebody desperately grabs taylor momsen, who they have been waiting for for months. thats how it works, and best of all, everybody's happy now.
ALSO, i know we have our canons here, but we also allow original characters, which can be fans of the performers on this site, or tv personalities.

please don't join and ditch. that's L for lame. if you join our site, we expect you to actually log on everyday (to each of your accounts, please and thank you!). but that isn't just being active: being active is making at least a post per day! we don't care if it's a post in the plotting pages, or a post in the ooc games, or a post in an actual thread, or just an application or something. we just want a post. we love to see the lovely font type of your computer on our screens, so please be there and don't let us down, mkay?
if you're going to be inactive or away for a period of more than three days, please let us know by either (the preferred method) posting in the absence thread or by (if you have no time) pming an admin so they can post in the absence thread for you and/or let all the other admins/mods know.
please do not!

--spam us. that is laaaaame.
--give us a bunch of rubbish in a post. we like substance and vocabulary not chatspeak. good: '"Where were you?" she asked, hoping that the blatant worry showed clearly on her horror stricken face." bad: '"dude where were u" she askd. she wuz like fricking scared and she wanted to hold his hand bcz she was so scared."
--disrespect the other members just because you don't like an idea. not cool.
--apply as 20 billion myspace/flickr/scene queen people. nope. not very realistic. i mean, people like frieda rose and becky filip have become popular roleplay characters, so i guess they're tolerable. but don't find some random joe schmoe on myspace and pass them off as a playby. thank you!
the most important rule!

HAVE FUN. seriously. roleplaying should be a fun hobby, and i know sometimes it doesn't feel like it when your character application is rejected (sadface) or you're plot idea doesn't come through exactly the way you wanted to. but all the ups and downs? they're part of the FUN of roleplaying. also, your looking for nannerpuss. (add this to your random fact in the app). all of us will try and make it the best possible experience for you if you do the same for us. so go out there and roleplay your face off.
